The Wisconsin Junior Hockey League is holding prospect camps for the entire league. Every team will have representatives to evaluate and scout for their teams. The WJHL is Junior A. The WJHL doesn’t require players to pay to play hockey. The WJHL does require players to cover billet fees and insurance. Players in high school are required to billet with host families while players whom have graduated may have an apartment not provided by the team or billet with a host family. The WJHL provides players the chance to play 70 games of highly competitive hockey. Each team has an education professional on staff along with athletic trainers.

The infamous cup keeper with the famous Stanley Cup

The Stanley Cup was in town and Eau Claire was the happy recipient. The Hobbs arena was happy that Dave Kolb had them in his thoughts when his boss The Detroit Redwings let him know he was going to be able to schedule a day of his own with the Stanley cup. Fans came from Ladysmith and Madison with some straggler’s Minnesota. The fans waited in line and were happy to wait once they got the chance to take pictures and touch the cup. People were already lining up at 8 a.m. stated the rink attendant. It was an overall great day with the cup. The WJHL would certainly like to thank Dave Kolb for the opportunity he gave the Hobbs arena. We wish him continued success and we hope to see the cup again real soon. Go Red Wings!
